Heidi Kyser is senior writer and producer at Nevada Public Radio. A native New Mexican, Heidi lived on both U.S. coasts and overseas before settling in Las Vegas. She’s freelanced for the Patriot Ledger, Improper Bostonian, L.A. Times, Variety and just about every Southern Nevada publication. She was a senior editor in trade publishing for a decade before moving to consumer magazines with a two-year stint at Vegas Seven. In 2014, Heidi joined Desert Companion, where her feature writing has won her several awards, including a Maggie for best news story and a Folio for best single article in a city-regional magazine. She also hosts and produces for KNPR’s daily radio program, State of Nevada.
